The month of October in the year 2008 marked a new milestone in space exploration. The People's Republic of China launched Shenzhou 7 with the purpose of organizing a spacewalk. The historical occasion marked the beginning of the end for the monopoly of space by the United States of America and Russia. The astronauts were also known in the Chinese Press as the Aeronauts and they started this historical mission around the end of September 2008. The names of the Taikonuats were Zhai Zhigang, Jing Haipeng, and Liu Boming. The first spacewalk by China was completed in time for its National Day and the Taikonauts returned on October 2008. The success of the Shenzhou 7 has inspired the People's Republic of China to do bigger and better things in space such as plans for the launching of a space lab in the year 2011 followed by the establishment of a permanent space station in the year 2020.

While China has sent a man into space after the United States of America and Russia, China has been able to convert into another country that has been able to do a spacewalk using extravehicular activity.. Even though the United States of America was the first country to land a man on the moon, The People's Republic of China has plans to land a man on the moon as well. It is this inspiration from Zhengzhou 7 that has helped the People's Republic of China in consolidating its place in space along with the two superpowers. The People's Republic of China has also inspired other countries to launch spaceships with the purpose of space exploration and research.

The world has heaped praise on The People's Republic of China for its Shenzhou 7 Mission with letters and comments of a positive nature coming from CNN [Cable News Network], NPR [National Public Radio], the Swedish News Agency [TT], the Romanian News Agency, the Prime Minister of Thailand, The President of Nigeria, the leader of Myanmar , The President of Laos, The President of Sudan, The President of Togo, The President of Pakistan, and The Prime Minister of Laos. There were well wishers from countries as diverse as Nepal, Laos, Colombia, and the United States of America who congratulated the Takeouts of the Shenzhou 7 and the People's Republic of China for this historic occasion of a spacewalk and future space exploration that has consolidated China as one of the big powers in space. My congratulations to the People's Republic of China and Shenzhou 7 Crew.
