If we don't start respecting our Earth we will all be heading For Extinction.

It is difficult to ascertain how many species have vanished of the face of the planet because one species called man, a species has to disappear for 50 years before it can be declared officially extinct.

FACT:
1. The UK birdsong population has declined by 92 per cent between 1970-2003
2. The Black Rhino's numbers have fallen from 65,000 in 1970 to around 3,1000
3. The African Elephant population has fallen from around 1. 2 million to just under a half a million since 1970
4. The population of tigers has fallen by 95 per cent during the past century
All the above and a list of many other species of bird, Fish, dog, cat reptile insect and plant that if I were to list would take about 500 pages are all heading for extinction. Why? Because of us, Well what comes around comes around, Man has recently been added to the list.

THIS MAY BE MANKIND'S FINAL CENTURY

I read that an Astronomer named Martin Rees who is an Astronomer and leading cosmologist reckons the human race has only a 50/50 chance of surviving another century. He has written a book called "Our Final Century" He says in this book that one of the main courses of us all being doomed is by our own self destruction, We will use up all our natural resources 2050.

Was you aware our Forests which absorb carbon dioxide emissions are being completely destroyed at such an alarming rate and as a result our fresh water supplies are too becoming polluted by toxic fall out, Remember all life needs water to survive, fresh water fish are the first to be affected.

Reports by expert's have found, that the oceans although they are getting deeper and increasing in volume year by year, due to the polar caps continuing to melt, remember that is aided by Global warming caused by the growing Ozone hole, before long, will become emptied of fish.

Bye Bye Fish

North Atlantic cod stocks have collapsed from an estimated spawning stock of 264,000 tonnes in 1970 to fewer than 60,000 in 1995. So by now in 2007 I estimate we are down to around the 40,000 tonnes. Not forgetting even more species of fish disappears due to a combination of things mostly due to over fishing. But other reasons are due to pollution.

More Scary Facts

One litre of oil can contaminate 800 000 litre's of water. We dump approximately 3177 million litres of oil into the Worlds Rivers and oceans every year.
(See Reinnam Website) And what about climatic changes, as I said Fish are in fact the first to be effected by climatic changes or pollution even at a small degree.
Its not just the fish being wiped out Scientists who examined data for 350 kinds of other mammals, birds, reptiles as well as fish also found the numbers of many species have more than halved. But on the same note they are also still finding new species of fish with an alien appearance this is believed to be due to contamination.

BETWEEN 1970 AND 2002 FOREST COVER OF THE WORLD HAS DWINDLED BY 12 PER CENT

Reading a quotation by Andy Ferguson, of Optimum population trust, the world watch journal.

He said the Earth isn't big enough to cope with our modern lifestyles anymore,

The fact is we need to change our ways now.

Personally I think it should be made law that 'EVERYBODY' in the world should have at least, one tree of some sort in their garden, if they don't have a garden then plant one somewhere else, with a sign saying This tree belongs to me' stating your name and Address, it might help a little, mind you due to Global warming, they also say some trees are not adapting to this climate change so basically they will properly die anyway. But I think, at least we should try.

Remember, we need trees to breath. We need Water to drink. And no forgetting the wildlife does too, we have a duty to protect this planet; there are many species that are already EXTINCT because of us humans.

lets just recap....
About half of the worlds original forest cover has been destroyed by Humans,we are wiping out the rain forests at a rate of about 2 Acres a secondIn just 15 years 400 million acres of forest will be lost and its accelerating every day , Water is getting contamanated and as the population grows and the demand for worlds resorces increases we are coursing our own extinction.

A report from the Earth summit warns that the wasteful lifestyles of the rich nations are mainly responsible for the exploitation and depletion of natural wealth.
Human consumption has doubled over the last 30 years and continues to accelerate by 1.5 per cent a year.

Do you know we dump waist faster than it breaks down by the natural process, that's of course if it can be broken down in the first place. (Plastic takes one hundred years to decay).

Do I need to run around naked and have 'Save the world' written on my chest andWe are all Doomed' on my arse before you all wake up.
