An interesting tale hit the Internet and television air waves in May 2010. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who is the Russian governor of the Russian Republic of Kalmykia, appeared on Russian television and spoke with a popular host to tell his long-suppressed story.
The governor spoke of an event that occurred to him on September 18, 1997. It is an occurrence he hasn't discussed publicly until now, almost 13 years later.
Ilyumzhinov claims to have been abducted by aliens.
According to Ilyumzhinov the aliens brought him to their ship and communicated with him telepathically. The governor claims the reason for this method of communication was due to the fact not enough oxygen was present. When they visited and took him from his apartment, Ilyumzhinov said the aliens did not make themselves known more publicly because they "weren't ready" (abcnews.com).
The governor, who is also a former president of the World Chess Federation, also told the host when the aliens appeared to him in his apartment, there were three witnesses present during the abduction; these individuals were his driver, minister and assistant. He claims he would not have believed his ordeal if not for these individuals being onlookers.
At this time reports do not list any interviews with any of these witnesses, however the Russian Government reportedly is very interested in this story and plans to pursue more details.
Allegedly the Russian government is afraid that the governor might have offered the aliens "secret information", this information was reported by the Echo of Moscow radio station. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev plans to conduct an interrogation personally to determine exactly what happened after he received a written request from State Duma deputy Andrei Lebedev.
A Fox News report stated "According to a report on Russian news website GZT.ru, State Duma deputy Andrei Lebedev doesn’t believe that the governor was simply shown around the alien spaceship and released. Lebedev wants to find out what else happened to the president - and he wants Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to interrogate the abductee" (foxnews.com).
Of concern is not only what the governor may have shared with the aliens, but if the abduction has impacted his ability to perform his job.
At this time details are pretty sketchy on what happened on that autumn day in 1997, but it seems the Russian government has every intention to get to the bottom of the day the aliens whisked one of their governors away.
