Bones are the skeletal frame that support the body of both humans and animals. Human bones are for ever developing during the growing years of a human, and when the growing stops, there are many factors that affect the human bone's ability to mend when broken.


The ribs will heal with time, and when broken, a way to ensure that the bones mend to their best ability is to firstly take the rest that you need to get over the initial shock, then making sure that your calcium levels are sufficient for the healing to take place by blood test, a human is able to work out the best way forward for healing. Ribs will heal generally on their own, growing and building back together, although they do need help. What fixes calcium to bones during injury is Vitamin D and ensuring that the body has sufficient of this essential vitamin can mean that the bone will heal quicker.

Of course, there will be exceptions to the rule where metal plates have to be inserted instead of bone, and bone transplant will be needed, although generally the bone's capability to heal is amazing, the only help needed being in understanding the amount of restriction of movement required and the added vitamins that may speed recovery.

In normal healthy people, bones are replenished and will develop and continue to grow and thrive, healing small fractures on their own, simply based on patient intake of correct diet, and associated attention being paid to exercise.
